Red Axes, the Israeli dance duo credited with redefining the Tel Aviv-sound; have over the past couple of years won fans all over the world with their genre-hopping, boundary pushing music. Dori Sadovnik and Niv Arzi, AKA Red Axes have successfully married house’s rhythmic precision to guitar licks and weathered drum kits, earning the prolific producers much-deserved attention and appearances at all the biggest festivals across Europe, including Sonar, Dekmantel and Glastonbury.
They make their way to India next week as part of Wild City’s Various Artists, a series that introduces to Indian audiences, modern music’s most imaginative and original DJs and producers. The three city tour will make stops in Delhi (February 16), Bengaluru (February 17) and Mumbai (February 18).
Their last album The Beach Goths showcased Red Axes’ loose-limbed playfulness and penchant for making party music inspired by the free-form abandon of the kaleidoscopic sounds of the late ’70s and early ’80s post-punk and psychedelia scenes.
As part of Various Artists, Wild City has brought down artists and producers like Palms Trax, Flako, Roska, Slugabed, Nic Tasker, Raji Rags, Sarah Farina, Tommy Flowers, Milo Häfliger, RP Boo, Ikonika, Scratcha DVA, Addison Groove, Culoe de Song, Jasper James, Dauwd, Bézier, Young Marco and most recently Cinnaman.
