Boiler Room and Budweiser’s ‘Discover What’s Brewing’ event series has spotlighted some of the globe’s most iconic DJs and burgeoning artists on-the-rise — across a diverse mix of scenes and subcultures in city locations all over the world — since first launching in Brussels with a show fronted by Detroit legend, Derrick May, in July 2016.
On April 7, the series will make its way to tech capital Bengaluru, where audio-visual savants Zora Jones & Sinjin Hawke will direct the evening with ample help from artists like footwork producer Jlin and performance artist Avril Stormy Unger, up-and-coming Indian electronica acts like Kumail and Aerate Sound.
Since its debut in July 2016, the series has taken in shows in Mumbai, Santiago, Philadelphia, Los Angeles and most recently, Miami, where Danny Tenaglia, Josh Wink, Oscar G and Lazaro Casanova provided the soundtrack for a night dedicated to exploring the foundations of US house and techno. Hip-hop icon Jazzy Jeff took to the decks in Philadelphia, while in Mumbai for example, Werk Discs co-founder and Ninja Tune cohort, Actress, was the focus of a bill that also showcased the talents of local Mumbai-based artists Oceantied and Sandunes as well as _RHL from Bengaluru.
