Boiler Room returns to India, this time to Bengaluru – on April 7 – with an explosive line-up as far as experimental and cutting-edge music is concerned.
The self-proclaimed online home of the underground gives an audience uncatered for by mainstream radio or TV the chance to hear fresh dance music without setting foot in a club and most importantly, also a chance to hear music that rarely gets played in a club. Boiler Rooms webcam has been a window into underground music scenes – first London’s blossoming UK bass culture, then Berlin’s thriving techno community, and underground American hip-hop in the United States.
In keeping with their global series, Boiler Room and Budweiser’s ‘Discover What’s Brewing’  – which has spotlighted some of the globe’s most iconic DJs and burgeoning artists on-the-rise  music fans across the world on April 7 will be able to check out the fantastic audiovisual outfit of Zora Jones & Sinjin Hawke, who will be playing a b2b set, the footwork stylings of American producer Jlin, collaborating with Bangalore-based performance artist Avril Stormy Unger, the ethereal sounds of Mumbai-based produce Kumail and local Bengaluru boys, Aerate Sound, who have impressed many with their recently-released debut album, Only For External
 
Boiler Room x Budweiser ‘Discover What’s Brewing’ in Bengaluru is the global platform’s second event in India. On December 1, Boiler Room made its debut at antiSOCIAL in Mumbai with British producer Actress, and Indian acts like _RHL, Oceantied and Sandunes. 

Boiler Room and Budweiser’s ‘Discover What’s Brewing’ event series has spotlighted some of the globe’s most iconic DJs and burgeoning artists on-the-rise — across a diverse mix of scenes and subcultures in city locations all over the world — since first launching in Brussels with a show fronted by Detroit legend, Derrick May, in July 2016.

On April 7, the series will make its way to tech capital Bengaluru, where audio-visual savants Zora Jones & Sinjin Hawke will direct the evening with ample help from artists like footwork producer Jlin and performance artist Avril Stormy Unger, up-and-coming Indian electronica acts like Kumail and Aerate Sound.

Since its debut in July 2016, the series has taken in shows in Mumbai, Santiago, Philadelphia, Los Angeles and most recently, Miami, where Danny Tenaglia, Josh Wink, Oscar G and Lazaro Casanova provided the soundtrack for a night dedicated to exploring the foundations of US house and techno. Hip-hop icon Jazzy Jeff took to the decks in Philadelphia, while in Mumbai for example, Werk Discs co-founder and Ninja Tune cohort, Actress, was the focus of a bill that also showcased the talents of local Mumbai-based artists Oceantied and Sandunes as well as _RHL from Bengaluru.

With discovery a key message, Boiler Room and Budweiser continue their Indian sojourn, with 2017’s first Boiler Room in India in Bengaluru. A very special b2b spectacleheadlines the show, with Barcelona-based producers and founders of audio-visual collective Fractal Fantasy, Zora Jones & Sinjin Hawke. The pair and their self-acclaimed ‘dual mind’ have collaborated with the biggest and best including artists like Kanye West, L-Vis 1990 & DJ Taye. Their show promises to be veritable feast for ears and eyes alike.

Joining them on the night will be American footwork producer Jlin – who spends a lot of time in the Garden City and will be collaborating with city-based performance artist Avril Stormy Unger for a special set, and Mumbai-based producer Kumail, whose latest EP ‘From You to Blue’ showcases his leanings towards atmospheric and ethereal sounds beyond the dancefloor.. Completing the line-up are new kids on the block,Aerate Sound, who have made small but noticeable ripples in the Indian music scene with their sample-driven, beat culture influenced debut album, Only For External.
