Indigo 91.9, Bangalore’s first and only International radio station, celebrated International Women’s Day with a whole lot of ’Girl Power’ on-air! As the day was dedicated to all the women of the city, at Indigo 91.9, it was all about redefining definitions and having a great time while celebrating ’Girl Power’! While shows were hosted only by female RJs, women achievers were featured all through the day showcasing their success stories.
Listeners were also invited to Indigo Live Music Bar, Bangalore’s favorite music destination, for a fun filled day, as they got to hang out with their favorite Indigo RJs. A complete package, listeners and guests were treated to a special girl power lunch, zumba sessions, crash courses in self-defense, cocktails on the house, a special girl power edition of ’Riddler on the Roof’ with Mark Rego and much more as they interacted with the RJs who broadcasted live from the venue. Women achievers from various walks of life from the city, like popular standup comedian Sumukhi Suresh, fashion blogger Shalini Chopra, global marketing leader and bestselling author Amisha Sethi among many others were featured on-air. An exclusive band of women from Indigo 91.9 mixed some special Girl Power cocktails for the guests as they showcased their bartending skills on the occasion at Indigo Live Music Bar, Bangalore’s favorite music destination!
As the evening turned into an exciting affair both on air and at Indigo Live Music Bar, a special ’girl power hour’ program was kick started by RJ Shagufta, which featured actresses Nicole Faria and Parvathy Nair. As the women achievers shared their recipe for success, RJ Shagufta continued the celebrations on air with some lively music.
Commenting on the occasion, the former Miss Earth 2010 Nicole Faria said, "It is one of the best times I have had going live on air and chatting with RJ Shagufta at Indigo Live Music Bar.
